Angels rookie Shohei Ohtani was cleared for hitting and was inserted back into the starting lineup Tuesday as a DH after missing almost a month due to a grade-2 UCL sprain in his right elbow.
Ohtani has yet to be cleared for pitching and will be evaluated by the Angels medical department in 3 weeks to see where he's at physically.
Ohtani went 0-4 in his return Tuesday but followed that up with a 2-4 performance in the Angels 7-4 win over the Mariners the next day. On Saturday, Ohtani took a foul ball off his right knee and is currently listed as day-to-day.
